Description
Smelt are an important forage species throughout the Great Lakes, providing a high-value food source for trout, salmon, walleye and other predatory fish.
The TailOut Smelt pattern was designed to mimic the slender profile and natural silver appearance of the real thing, with subtle flash and contrast that comes to life in the water.
This pattern will fish well throughout the year, but really comes into its own from ice-out through mid-spring as smelt are on their spawning run.

The suppleness and perfect colors have definitely scored me more bites. Walleye, Bass, Rock Bass and Crappies have all gone nuts for these. Whether I use the balanced with a jig head or drift under a float with those great eyes, they have done the job. I cant wait to drift or dropshot these for steelhead!
